Hello,
Just a short post today to let you know I’m running a little workshop in instant photography with the Scottish Centre for Geopoetics at their Expressing the Earth gathering. It’s only £5! It’s going to be a really lovely weekend and I’m really happy to be a part of it.
Details on the whole weekend and booking is here: https://www.geopoetics.org.uk/gathering-2026/
and here’s some info on the workshop:
Pause with the Viewfinder: slow instant photography and poetry
Join Jessie Growden to explore instant photography as a way of pausing to consider what is through the viewfinder, and around it. With only a limited number of exposures, take time with the nature in Hawick’s town centre, experiment with composition, and discover the sometimes unexpected results of pressing the shutter. Take notes as you go and find their poetic flow.
Please bring: a notebook and pen/pencil, and if you have one, an instant camera, e.g. Instax, Polaroid. Instax mini cameras and film will be supplied if you don’t have your own. Be prepared to be outside! Walking distances will be fitted to accessibility needs.
3:30 – 5pm, meet at Cornucopia, Hawick.
Jessie x
