Hello hihi here’s a thing I’m going to send to the local valley newsletter. We’ve just got mobile signal out here in the last couple of months, and it’s exciting… actually no, it’s boring. Yawn. I was already tired of doomscrolling. Now it’s in the countryside. I do have proper thoughts about Pokemon Go, like how it’s a way of experiencing nature, and how it’s kind of the opposite of that too, but for now, here’s a silly little thing about it.
Strange creatures colonise forest in wake of 4G mast switch-on
It has come to the attention of certain perceptive residents that, due to the increase in mobile data activity, unusual animals have been observed – and photographed – within the local forest.
With the correct digital apparatus, these “Pokémon” (Pocket Monsters) can now be discovered by locals and visitors alike, thanks to the erection of shiny metal structures, now rising above the spruce on hills surrounding the formerly data-barren area.
These “Pokémon” apparently originated in Japan, becoming an almost-global phenomenon in 1999 when they finally reached the UK. since 2016, these tameable creatures have been populating the planet via WIFI, 3G, 4G and 5G signals.
Authorities are adamant that the animals, ghosts, machines and other curiosities that comprise the astounding 1025 currently identified species list, do not pose any threat to native wildlife resident in the forest. Despite this, they urge all forest users to be vigilant, as the appearance and size of the creatures varies greatly and are potentially alarming sights for the unprepared.

Clefairy are bigger than I thought they would be…

Because I don’t want to get sued, here’s a link to the Pokémon legal thingy (can’t find a UK one? hmm), and I happily post the image of a Clefairy that I crudely edited a bit here as Fan Art in a non-commercial way. It’s not for sale, but you can enjoy it here for free whenever you like!
