Summer has come and gone… Something something September?

Updates! Hello. It’s been a little while. I’ve been using my best words up on something that’ll hopefully let me do more writing of words and non-words soon, but in the meantime, I’m thinking about reflections and sunsets and making things like books that are actually videos and things like videos that are actually books. I’m just about to upload my new video, A Sacrifice to the Midges to my Patreon page, where it’ll be watchable for everyone on the £5 tier. I’m playing around with images from it to make a little zine to go alongside it. I’ve warped the flat, reflecty images from the video back into squares that the polaroid photos are in in physical space. Some more explanation with better words here. Yes I’ve used up /midges for that, please do not hold out hope for an actual film actually about midges.

Meanwhile in local news, a new mural was unveiled in Hawick today, and I have Opinions. I’m busy being busy at the moment, so the tldr / tldw(rite?) is just two thoughts:

Yay! Just what the Borders needs! Another piece of public art about men (sarcasm).

Oh no why do they let that guy paint on walls his portraits are nightmarish, but not in the fun way, in the everybody grin and pretend you think it’s great at the unveiling kind of way.
